Atari Museum Donates 8 Rare B&W Games to FunSpot Arcade

Realizing that the construction of the permanent Atari Museum will not become a reality in the short term and having extensive rare coin-ops in storage currently being unplayed, Curt Vendel donated several coin-ops of Fun Spot's Classic Coin-op museum.

Mike Stulir of Back in Time Classic Gaming Webcast comes down to Staten Island, NY and meets up with Curt Vendel for the big move of remaining coin-ops in the last of the AHS storage containers.

The 24' Uhaul truck just barely fit all of the coin-ops loaded up into it. Everything from Breakout to Skydiver to Basketball, Nightdriver and many many more.

The truck is loaded to the max and everything is ready to roll. First stop... Curt Vendel new home up north of NYC to drop off some of the equipment and coin-ops that will be part of his new home arcade and game room. Then onto New Hampshire and Funspot.

Gary Vincent and Dave Nelson start to unload the coin-ops from the Uhaul once Curt and Mike had driven it around to the workshop. Basketball is one of the first to be unloaded.

Basketball is a pretty big game and rather heavy too. However Gary's kick-ass coin-op handtruck makes easy work of it.

The workshop is like a candy store and we all felt like kids! Wow is this place big and man there are some games that noone has seen in 20-30 years. Gary prepares to unload another game from the Uhaul while Mike checks out the amazing stash of treasures.

Dave helps get the Skydiver ready for Gary to wheel off of the truck. Super Breakout is the final game in the truck to be unloaded. Other games included Super Bug, Le Mans, Tank II and Outlaw.

The final games are unloaded into the workshop at FunSpot. Gary and Curt pause for a moment for a quick photo with some of the games donated to FunSpot.... they couldn't have gone to a better home and I am very happy to know that they will be played and enjoyed by many people looking to relive old memories and for a new generation of gamers to experience there treasures of the past and try them for the first time.
