Millionaire industrialist Harvey
Firestone originally created Firestone
Country Club in 1928 for his employees.
Completely redesigned in 1959 by Robert
Trent Jones, Firestones South
Course has become one of the premier
stops on the PGA Tour. In 1960 the
South Course played host to the PGA
Championship, and is presently the
home of the NEC World Series of Golf.
Every August top
professionals from around the world
come to Akron, Ohio to face the challenge
of one of the most demanding courses
in the world.
